Orange Chalcedony Gold Ring with Vintage Tuck and Roll Design

The Story

Chalcedony gems come in a wide range of colors, with a waxy luster and luminous translucency. We designed this ring using a gorgeous one-of-a-kind orange chalcedony cushion cut cabochon. The smooth, polished dome is both luminous and translucent, with a rich orange that is enhanced by the 14K yellow gold band. This particular color is rare and vibrant because it has both an intense, even color and a luminescence brought on by the translucent quality of the natural mineral. It’s held in place by a unique style that combines a polished, understated frame around the stone with elongated prongs to hold it in place. This minimal style setting is designed to showcase the gemstone fully and allows us to see almost the entire surface of the dome. The slightly sharper tips of the prongs are a visual contrast to the soft curves of the cabochon. In a striking contrast to the minimally treated setting, this design boasts a very unique pattern inspired by tuck and roll upholstery, famously utilized in vintage cars. The pattern is visible along the entire shank of the ring and narrows as it tapers towards the bottom, creating an elongated visual effect. It’s a substantial design and versatile in that it is meant to be worn as a bold fashion statement on any finger. No rules here.
