Creating movement in a still piece is a skilled art. We designed this wave-like wire work in the gallery to feed gracefully into the halo of diagonally set pear shapes that perfectly frame this glowing emerald. Sometimes the simple solution to showing a stone that doesn’t have much sparkle on its top side, is to flip it and set it with the bottom side up, as the facets on this side flaunt the color depth and allure of the gem better ❇️

Sketching is one of the most fundamental and important steps of our creative process as jewelry designers. When ideas are generated with the goal of making physical objects, sketching is the direct expression of those thoughts into a physical reality. These drawings would seldomly rise to the level of fine craftsmanship or design without a clear goal which is in the discovery process of sketching. Here you’ll find me finetuning a complex idea, sketched many times over before we finally reach the point of creating a computer illustration which will be 3D printed as a model to then be cast in metal.
