The Story

This round-cut cabochon opal has a gorgeous play-of-color with hints of reds, oranges, yellow, and green. One of the things we love about this type of gemstone is that the color changes before your eyes. It’s a remarkable phenomenon and makes this type of opal highly desirable. This particular gem is set with elongated prongs to contrast with its soft, round dome and is surrounded by an elegant diamond halo. We designed the yellow gold grooved band to open as it ascends to create a series of soft lines that open up to connect to the sides of the smooth, polished setting. The multi-textured design is an elegant match to the multi-colored opal. This opal ring has a great balance of overall color and scale, which makes it perfect for everyday wear.
