Vintage Diamond Engagement Ring with Octagonal Frame with Stepped Shank

This ring was our original “frame” design. The frame is a design element that outlines the gemstone and has the potential to change the visual shape of the center stone. This is definitely an important part of this design, but the ring also has other unique characteristics as well. The steps next to the center stone are used as a transition between the center stone and the band of the ring. The steps have the same angular shape as the frame around the center stone, helping to keep the design aesthetics consistent. The ring shank has pavé set diamonds to continue the pattern around the entire ring. Hand engraving ties it all together and adds the detail that is synonymous with this period of design inspiration. There are so many variations of this design concept that are possible. I think we have just scratched the surface of this idea.
